What Polar Analytics actually is
Polar is an analytics platform for direct-to-consumer brands, built around Shopify. It pulls store data, ad platforms, email and more into one warehouse-style layer, then lets you build metrics, dashboards and cohorts on top - customer lifetime value, repeat rate, contribution margin, the things a growth lead cares about.
It is a serious product with a clear customer: a brand large enough that somebody's job includes answering questions with data. That person builds the dashboards. Everybody else looks at them.
What it does not do is act. No campaign gets launched from it, no budget moves, no post gets scheduled. Insight is the deliverable.
Side by side
| Polar Analytics | Magneety | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is for | Unifying store and marketing data into custom dashboards and metrics | Running the marketing and knowing what it made |
| Who it fits | Mid-market DTC brands with someone data-literate on staff | Owners and small teams who do everything themselves |
| Price positioning | Mid-market analytics pricing that scales with store size. Several times a small-business software budget | Flat: Starter €50, Pro €100, Scale €200 a month, regardless of revenue |
| Custom metrics | Strong - build your own, slice how you like, cohort analysis included | Fixed, opinionated views. Fewer questions answerable, no setup required |
| Can it change your ads? | No. Analysis and audience work, not campaign management | Yes. Publishes and manages Google and Meta campaigns, moves budget on approval |
| Setup | Expect real onboarding and someone to own the definitions | Connect accounts, useful the same afternoon |
| Beyond ecommerce analytics | Focused on the data layer | Email tools, organic social posting, branded reports, budget pacing |
Insight without an action layer
Every analytics purchase makes the same silent bet: that the constraint on the business is not knowing. Sometimes that is exactly right. A brand with three people arguing over channel budget genuinely is blocked on evidence.
For a shop owner, the constraint is usually different. You already suspect which campaign is bad. What you do not have is a spare hour to open Google Ads, work out which of the four things is the one to change, change it, then do the same in Meta. Better dashboards do not give you that hour. They add a place you feel guilty about not checking.
There is a second cost people underestimate: definitions. Custom metrics only stay useful if somebody maintains them. If nobody owns that, in six months you have a dashboard nobody quite trusts and a subscription nobody wants to be the one to cancel.
A view you do not have to build
Magneety connects your store, your ad accounts, GA4 and your email tool and shows what the month made - then hands you the specific budget change worth making, which you approve in a tap.

- You need custom metrics and cohorts. If your business runs on definitions only you can write - contribution margin your way, cohorts by acquisition source and month - we will feel rigid and you will resent it.
- You have someone data-literate on the team. An analyst with a good analytics platform beats an opinionated dashboard every time. Our advantage only exists where that person does not.
- Your questions are about customers, not campaigns. Retention curves, repeat purchase behaviour, lifetime value by cohort - that is their territory and we do not go there.
- You already have people executing. If a media buyer or an agency runs the ads, you do not need our action layer, only the measurement - which makes a pure analytics tool the right shape.
A tool that fits beats a tool that is cheap. That cuts both ways.
What you get instead, and what it costs
Magneety connects Google Ads, Meta Ads, Shopify or WooCommerce, GA4 and your email tool - Klaviyo, MailerLite or Brevo - plus organic Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. It publishes and manages real campaigns, paces budget through the month on Pro, produces branded reports, and explains itself in plain English rather than metric definitions.
If you want to sanity-check your own store data against another source while you compare tools, GA4's ecommerce measurement guide is the reference for how those events are supposed to be sent in the first place - a surprising amount of dashboard disagreement starts there.

Common questions
Can I build custom metrics in Magneety?
No. The views are fixed and opinionated - spend, revenue, what is left, per channel and blended. That is a real limitation, and it is the trade that lets it be useful on day one without anyone defining anything.
Does Magneety work with WooCommerce as well as Shopify?
Yes, both are first-class connections. Several tools in this category are Shopify-first and treat WooCommerce as an afterthought, so if you are on Woo it is worth checking that specifically before you shortlist anything.
Does Magneety do cohort or lifetime value analysis?
Not in depth. If your decisions hinge on repeat purchase behaviour and customer cohorts over time, a dedicated ecommerce analytics platform is the right tool and we would rather tell you than sell you.
Can I run both?
Yes, and for a brand in the middle it is a reasonable setup: an analytics platform for the deep customer questions, Magneety for launching and managing the campaigns and pacing budget. There is no conflict between them.
How long does Magneety take to set up?
An afternoon at most. You connect the accounts through their normal login screens, answer some plain questions about your business, and the views populate from your existing history rather than starting empty.
Skip the dashboard build
Magneety connects your store, ads and email, shows what the month made, and offers the change worth making next - no metric definitions required.
